Which AS91XX Standard is right for me?
The IAQG has developed International Quality Management System Standards for the Aviation, Space, and Defense (AS&D) industry, all of which are based upon ISO 9001:2015:
- AS9100 = ISO 9001 + IAQG Requirements for Manufacturers
- AS9110 = ISO 9001 + IAQG Requirements for MRO and Service
- AS9120 = ISO 9001 + IAQG Requirements for Distributors

AS9100
The AS9100 standard provides suppliers with requirements for creating and maintaining a comprehensive quality system for providing safe and reliable products to the ASD industry, as well as civil & military aviation requirements.

AS9110
AS9110 is a standard that defines the quality system requirements for organizations whose primary business is in the aircraft industry at all levels of the MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) process. This standard is tailored towards organizations with National Airworthiness Authority (NAA) repair station certification; however, it is suitable for all organizations, including those that provide MRO for military aviation products.

AS9120
The AS9120 Standard adds 100+ requirements that are specific to distributors who carry aircraft components like fasteners, electronics, gaskets, etc. Distributors/brokers can change package quantity, but do not modify the parts in any way. Kitting (Product A + Product B = Product C) is only allowed if configuration is not changed. AS9120 was developed for pass-through distributors of aerospace items and addresses chain of custody, traceability, control, and availability of records.
